    The Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce, located in downtown Portales, New Mexico is actively involved in partnership with its members, promoting the growth and well-being of the community. Among those partnerships are Eastern New Mexico University and Cannon Air Force Base’s 27th Special Operations Wing. Among the attractions in the area are Blackwater Draw Museum, Blackwater Site National Historic Landmark,
    the Dalley Windmill Museum and Oasis State Park.

    Every Day is Beautiful in Green Valley

    With a wide variety of events and opportunities, Green Valley has something to offer everyone. Celebrate the fun of the Minnesota State Fair with us each summer. Enjoy a scenic stroll through our many parks or play a round of golf at one of our three courses. Have your picture taken with the World’s Largest Owl and marvel at all the beautiful outdoor murals throughout the town.

    Congratulations to Tracey Norrell on the grand opening of her new store Tracey’s Jewels at 117 S. Main in Downtown Portales. The store carries a huge selection of Paparazzi Jewelry. Helping her celebrate were members of the Ambassadors and Chamber along with her husband Daniel Norrell.

  • Business of the Month Business of the Month

    The Chamber named Juanito’s Mexican Restaurant as Business of the Month for December. Owners Juan and Mimi Garza and their staffs at the Portales and Clovis restaurants have recently been celebrating 40 years in business. The Portales restaurant itself has been open since 1993. The Garzas credit great employees with their success. They say several of those employees have been with them since the early days.

  • Volunteer of the Month Volunteer of the Month

    The Chamber named August Cooper and Bridget Garcia Volunteers of the Month for December. The two, along with other volunteers and family stepped up to continue the tradition of the Free Community Thanksgiving Dinner in Portales. The event was held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day at the First United Methodist Church. The pair said family had previously worked the event and it was time for the next generation to step forward.
