• Passport Portales 2020

    Teachers/Coaches/Program Leaders:

Leadership Portales is pleased to introduce a new program called Passport Portales targeted at students age 4-17 in Roosevelt County. The purpose is to provide money for registration fees to summer, afterschool and weekend programs including leagues, camp and, classes.

We estimate that we’ll have $3,000 enough for at least 30 awardees during this year’s cycle. We have three years of funding on deposit and plans to keep adding to the fund.

We need your nominations of students because you are so closely in touch with our youth. We do not have any income requirements and we are not necessarily looking for students that have need alone, though that can be a factor in the nomination. We want you to consider the student who might just need a little extra encouragement to excel and maybe explore a program that will invigorate their desire to learn.

All types of programs from art to sports to social and leadership skills are open. The awards are good for one program up to $100. You make the nominations, we’ll have a committee select the winners and arrange for the student’s “Passport” to be fulfilled.

While we are able to accept nominations all year long we intend to open up a new cycle every spring (April-March) and will make awards as long as we have funds. With that in mind we want to entertain nominations for spring and summer programs immediately and will accept this round until March 1.

Simply Click Here , fill out the clickable PDF nomination form and email it back to chamber@portales.com or print it out and drop it off at the Chamber, 100 S. Ave. A.

Thanks so much for your help. We hope this will be a collaboration that will benefit the youth and youth programs of our community.
