Leadership Portales accepting applications
Leadership Portales is currently accepting applications for the 2016 class which begins in September.
According to Leadership Portales Chairperson, Noelle Bartl, Leadership Portales is designed to provide a series of educational and participatory experiences for 20 individuals each year. The nine-month leadership training program consists of nine full-day sessions once a month starting with a retreat in September and ending with a graduation in May.
Sessions combine forums, tours, dialogue and interaction between speakers and participants. Subjects include government, quality of life, education, health care, economy, human services, industry, technology and community heritage.
With the class size limited to just 20, organizers say the program has the potential to build lifelong bonds between the class members and facilitate greater vision and better leadership in the community for years to come.
Bartl says the program, in its second year, requires a serious commitment to attend the sessions and participate fully in the activities.
Tuition is $400 and includes materials, travel and meals. Applications can be picked up at the Chamber. Deadline is Aug. 1, 2015.
