In 2020, the HSD held statewide virtual public listening sessions to hear how we could better serve our customers. As part of department’s continued commitment to the people of New Mexico, we are expanding our efforts to hear from communities on how to provide services in the most effective and efficient manner.

The Human Services Department provides services and benefits to more than 1 million New Mexicans through several programs including: the Medicaid, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Child Support, and several Behavioral Health Services.
