United Way of Eastern New Mexico staff and volunteers visited all twenty-two schools and offices of the Clovis Municipal School system encouraging everyone to pledge payroll donations to the UWENM campaign.
Clovis teachers and staff jointly pledged a total of $67,181.73. The bulk of this money will be donated to United Way through payroll deductions, allowing participants to give big over a period of time. The site with the biggest CMS giving was the Student Support Center, 73% of the Center's staff pledged $11,860 to United Way.
Clovis Schools have consistently been high pledge givers to United Way. Teachers and staff have given $857,367 over the last 16 years, according to Jelayne Curtis, CMS Executive Assistant to Superintendent Jody Balch. Jelayne has managed the campaign over those 16 years: coordinating with principals, scheduling presentations, and handling pledge forms.
All donated funds to UWENM remain local and are put to valuable work in our local community. United Way is grateful to Clovis Municipal Schools for supporting the work they do and supporting its community.
