Car show anchors annual Heritage Days

Cruising through the Heritage Days Car Show is a step back in time. From the old rock & roll music playing to the meticulously restored vehicles, it takes folks back to another era.
 
Most years about 75 vehicles are entered in the show and the owners are usually close by and , eager to answer questions about their pride and joy. Just remember to look but don’t touch.
 
Those wishing to enter their vehicle can download the form or register online at portales.com. The entry fee is $20 per vehicle and includes a Heritage Days Car Show ball cap along with a dash plaque with a photo of your car on it. Best of Show and People’s Choice awards will also be given.
 
For those who want to register the day of the show, registration will be open from 8-10 a.m. The show opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 3:30 with awards presented at 3 p.m. Door prizes will be given out to entrants throughout the day.
 
Heritage Days is made possible by stage sponsors J. P. Stone Community Bank, Alta Terra, Xcel Energy and Wells Fargo. The car show sponsor is C&S, Inc., while the parade is sponsored by New Mexico Bank & Trust. Yucca is the sponsor of the Pioneer activities.
