ART PROGRAMS
The City of Portales, partnering with New Mexico Clean & Beautiful, will hold its Fourth Annual Trash Can Contest to involve all interested Elementary Art Programs within the Roosevelt County School District. Each program must come up with a theme that deals with keeping our City/County clean and beautiful. Any Logo, quote, character, etc., may be used at the discretion of the instructor(s). You must contact either Veda Urioste or Joan Martinez-Terry at City Hall, 356-6662, or Dianne Parker at 356-7000, by March 13th to confirm participation. Also, all trash cans will need to be delivered to City Hall by Wednesday April 10, 2013 for judging.
Each school participating will be assigned 2 trash cans. (All County Schools will need to pick up their trash cans from City Hall). The winner of the contest will receive the Fourth Annual Trash Can Contest Plaque plus $250 to go toward your art program. Each participating program will keep one trash can to display at their school and all others will be displayed around area parks.
Winner of the contest will be announced at the 2013 Great American Clean up being held on Saturday April 13, 2013 at the Memorial Building starting at 9:00 am.

Bring all of your students, friends, teammates, teachers and principals out to the Great American Clean Up, collect trash and have a chance to win $75.00 for largest group, $75.00 for the most bags of trash collected and $75.00 for the most aluminum cans collected. We will furnish T-Shirts, gloves, trash bags, pizza and drinks. For any questions please contact either Veda or Joan at 356-6662, exts 1018 or 1012 or Dianne Parker at 356-7000.
