Name: United Way Reality Check Day
    Date: November 12, 2018
    Event Description:

Help us give 9th graders a wake up call that the next four years will be full of choices that design, plan, help prepare them for their adult life.

As a Reality Check Day Volunteer, your day will be spent "role playing" as the institutions and vendors that life requires us all to interact with: the landlord, the banker, the student loan company, the doctor, the social worker, the mall shop salesperson, etc. Students will be coming to your "establishment" to accomplish their task of making their paycheck go the distance!

YOU will be creating a stimulating learning experience allowing our young people to step into the world of adult responsibility:

    •          Prioritizing spending and decision making,
    •          Dealing with the financial stresses of making ends meet and
    •          Handling the challenges when what they have just isn't enough.

In order to carry out this ambitious project we need 24 volunteers are needed (morning and afternoon shift available--lunch for all day volunteers).
