Remembering the Heroes of 911

Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at 7:00 pm in the ENMU University Theatre Center is a one hour long program honoring the heroes of 911. There is no charge for this historic event but donations will be accepted for the United Way of Eastern New Mexico.

The program will feature citizens from throughout the region reading actual texts,  phone messages and radio traffic during the 911 tragedy. Documentary film footage will be projected behind the readers of the actual event ending with a short, BBC documentary of the building of the new tower in lower Manhattan, New York City.

The program is a powerful but gentle remembrance of that fateful day in United States history. The program is intended to honor, to uplift, to strengthen and to move forward with greater commitment to each other and love of country.

All are welcomed and encouraged to attend in support of those who perished and those who survived.

The event is co-sponsored by the ENMU Department of Theater and Digital Film-making and United Way of Eastern New Mexico. The event is being directed and the text edited by Patrick McCreary, professional actor, educator and Director of  the ENMU Summer Performing Arts Academy for Young People.

A short reception will complete the evening.
