    Event Description:
    The American Legion Post 31 of Portales will hold its annual Memorial Day Service at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 27 at the flagpole at the Portales Cemetery. Ret. Col. Mike Woolley is the speaker while a trumpet group from Portales High School Band will play the National Anthem. Don Criss will perform a reading of Flanders Field and Rev. Gary Piepkorn will deliver the benediction. The ceremony concludes with the flag ceremony by Post members and the playing of Taps.
