    Dr. Cynthia E. Orozco, Professor of History & Humanities, ENMU Ruidoso, will address the heretofore unknown significance of Adela Sloss-Vento, a major Latina civil rights activist and public intellectual in both the Mexican American civil rights movement and the Chicano movement. She will also discuss Sloss-Vento's challenges in Jim Crow Texas and patriarchal Texas from 1920 to 1990.
