Hello Roosevelt County!
Your Local Complete Count Census Committee is announcing a new competition featuring prizes for Roosevelt County residents willing to help us promote the 2020 Census in these final days! The deadline for everyone to complete the 2020 Census is Sept. 30. Currently Roosevelt County is at 52.8% completed, which means we are at risk of being severely undercounted.
An accurate census count is vital to our state, county and community to ensure we are represented in the NM Legislature and US Congress. Each person counted equals about $37,000 in federal funding to support essential food and healthcare programs, schools, roads, etc. We all benefit when we are all counted. If we are not counted, the federal funding that New Mexico needs will go to another state. New Mexico will be left to fill in the gaps that would’ve otherwise been taken care of by federal dollars.
Contest Details:
- You must be 18 years old and a resident of Roosevelt County to enter.
- Send a text message encouraging their 2020 Census completion to contacts in your phonebook. These have to be INDIVIDUAL text messages, no group texts.
2.You can use the sample text message below or create your own.
3.Keep proof of your texts on your phone as you will have to verify your reported outreach numbers if you are one of the top seven participants.
4.Participants can go to
www.rooseveltcounty.com to enter the contest. Click on the
2020 Census Contest in the top menu bar to enter.
5.Participants must report their outreach numbers by Oct. 2, 2020. Remember keep your text messages as you will have to prove your reported contacts…

We will also randomly draw from remaining participants for 12 additional $25 Roosevelt County merchant gift cards or prizes.
