Thomas and Tom Martin
Volunteer of the Month
Taco BoxA few months ago, Tom Martin, approached the Chamber executive director, Sharon King, about putting up Christmas lights synchronized to music, perhaps on the courthouse. Sharon checked with the county manager, Charlene Hardin, and she was excited about the idea. So the search for lights began.
The Martin men, Thomas and Tom, had added the same type of lights on their Clovis Taco Box last year so they had already worked out the kinks. The twosome spent many hours working on the new lights for our courthouse. The music requires programming 1/10 of a second at a time and it literally takes hours to program one song. The Martin's helped Chamber staff and board members set up the program and taught them how to program the songs. They also climbed on the courthouse roof and helped run cables and connect the computer.
Thanks, Tom and Thomas, for all your help on this year's light show and congratulations on being named Volunteers of the Month.
(Thomas left for Argentina the day before our picture was taken, so we "fixed" it to look like he was present - can you tell? He'll be so proud!!)
