Business of the Month - Hestands Floral and Gift
Rosalie Richards always wanted a flower shop, so her husband, Mark, bought her one. Along with their daughter, Michele Robertson, the couple own and operate Hestands Floral and Gift.
Not only do they offer floral arrangements and gifts but they are very involved in the community. Recently they gave away carnations on FTD’s Good Neighbor Day. Each person who brought non-perishable food to the floral shop received a dozen carnations. The expectation was to give one carnation each to twelve neighbors.
Rosalie and Michele have also become very involved in the community, volunteering at several events to help build the community.
Congratulations, Hestands Floral, for being named Business of the Month.
Volunteers of the Month - Portales Rotary Club
Why is the local Rotary Club the Chamber’s Volunteers of the Month? Because they . . .
- rebuilt the fence on the Rotary Park baseball field
- participate in the Annual City Trash Walk
- deliver Meals on Wheels
- honor Students of the Month
- send local students to Rotary Youth Leadership Award Camp
- give scholarships to ENMU, and
- donate children’s books to Portales Public Library
- cleaned up highway 70 through town before ENMU’s homecoming
Enough said? Congratulations, Rotarians and thank you for all you do.
Buena Vista Realty Receives Award from Rotary
Rotarians worldwide believe in the Four Way Test:
Is it the truth?
Is it fair to all concerned?
Will it build goodwill and
better friendships?
Will it be beneficial to all
concerned?
The local Rotary Club recently recognized one Portales business for exemplifying those beliefs. After reviewing several nominations, the award committee selected Buena Vista Realty as the 2009 recipient.

The web page allows visitors or new residents to request information, make comments or ask questions directly from the web page.
Some content areas are still being developed but the overall structure is set. Comments and suggestions are not only welcome but encouraged. Use the link to “contact us” or email comments to:
