Jan. 31, 2008 New Mexico Ag Expo Adds Dairy Building to Grounds Portales, NM — The 16th Annual New Mexico Ag Expo, sponsored by Plateau Wireless and Farmers Paxton Insurance Agency, will have an addition this year of a Dairy Building in which seminars will be held. Over the past 15 years, seminars at the Ag Expo were held in small meeting rooms within the Jake Lopez Community Center. However, due to the popularity of the seminars, the rooms are no longer large enough to accommodate the groups. This year the ag-related seminars will be held in the Dairy Building, which was formerly used as the Women’s Building during the Expo. The vendors who were located in the Women’s Building will be moved to the Merchant’s Building. Patrick Kircher, Roosevelt County Extension Agent, has organized two seminars on Wednesday, Feb. 27. At 10:30, Dr. Mark Marsalis and Dr. Sangu Angadi, , NMSU Extension Agronomists & Crop Physiologists, will present on Alternative Crop Use and Production for Biofuels – Can New Mexico be a Major Player? At 1:30, Dr. John Wenzel, NMSU Extension Veterinarian, will present Trichomoniasis in New Mexico. For more information on the seminars, contact Patrick Kircher at 356.4417.
