Jan 31, 2008 New Mexico Ag Expo Valuable to Local Ag Industry Portales, NM — For the 16th consecutive year, the New Mexico Agricultural Expo will reach thousands of dairymen, ranchers, and farmers, showcasing the latest technological and industrial advances. The Expo, which will be held February 26 & 27, brings in the latest expertise and equipment, helping those in attendance to utilize the services in their own operations. This year’s Expo is being sponsored by Farmer’s Paxton Insurance and Plateau Wireless. An Enlightened Horsemanship demonstration has been added to the Expo and will take place on Tuesday at 10 and 2. It will be conducted by Michael Richardson, a horse trainer who is paraplegic from Hico, Texas. In addition, there will be a Working Dog Clinic by Orin Barnes from Canyon. It will take place in the Show Arena at 10 and 1:30 on Wednesday. One notable change involves the Women’s Building. The vendors will be relocated to the Merchant’s Building due to space restrictions and seminar sites. Again this year, Expo attendees have the opportunity to win a brand new 16’ stock trailer. Registration for the drawing will be available at the show and the winner must be at least 18 years old. There is no admission charge to the show.
