Smith to Present Reproduction Records Seminar

Portales, NM — During this year’s New Mexico Ag Expo, Dr. Darron Smith, assistant professor of animal agriculture at Eastern New Mexico University, will present a seminar on “Using Reproductive Records to Assess Management.” The seminar is being sponsored by Access Bank (First Community Bank) and will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Yucca Room of the Jake Lopez Community Center on the Roosevelt County Fairgrounds.

Smith holds a Ph.D. in reproductive physiology from West Virginia University. In addition to owning and operating a farm in Pennsylvania, producing sheep, hogs and stocker cattle, he also developed a freezer meat trade on the east coast. Smith currently teaches classes on feed and nutrition, beef and dairy production and reproductive physiology at ENMU.

The 2006 New Mexico Ag Expo, sponsored by Plateau Wireless and Hamilton Automotive Group, will be held on February 21 and 22. Gates will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
