New Mexico AG Expo Celebrating 14th Anniversary Portales, NM — The 14th Annual New Mexico Agricultural Expo, slated for Feb. 21-22, 2006 is expected to draw more exhibitors and spectators into Portales this year than ever before. The event highlights New Mexico’s agricultural industry. The show, sponsored by Plateau Wireless and Hamilton Automotive Group, continues to grow each year by maintaining its original mission to connect New Mexico’s agricultural industry with the latest in technology and service. Planning for the state’s premier agricultural trade show is already underway as vendor registrations begin rolling in. The Roosevelt County Cooperative Extension Office will be organizing this year’s educational seminars and demonstrations again and will be offering a variety of opportunities for attendees. More than 170 booths with 400 exhibitors are expected to attend this year’s show. Displays of products and services providing the latest in technology to the agriculture industry will highlight the show. According to Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce Manager, Sharon King, most vendors come year after year. “However, we already have some first-time vendors coming for the 2006 Expo,” she said. Exhibitors returning from last year have the opportunity to reserve the same booth they had at the 2005 Expo. New exhibitors will be assigned a booth space on a first-come basis. For anyone interested in an exhibitor booth, spaces are still available both inside and outside. Inside booths are $325 for a 10-by-10 foot space. Outside spaces are $350 for a 20-by-30 foot space or $375 for a 30-by-80 foot space if space is reserved before December 30, 2005. Spaces increase by $50 after that date. Activities at the Expo will include an antique tractor parade with games, a dairy heifer sale, educational seminars and demonstrations, and a chuck wagon lunch. The woman’s building will once again feature a quilt show, vendors and demonstrations that are always a hit with the ladies that attend the Expo.
